“This is what you’re going to be doing next year.” Last summer, my friend Ann sent me a link to an application for a fellowship that would allow me to spend nearly a year in India. Ever since visiting the country in 2007 during Semester at Sea, I had wanted to spend a few months living in India. I was unemployed and had nothing better to do, so I began working on my project proposal for the fellowship. After a long application process, rejection, another application process, and receiving a grant, it all worked out.

I am going to be working with clients of online matrimonial sites to find out how the use of the Internet has impacted the traditional process of arranging marriages. I will be in Mumbai from October 14, 2010 until my grant money runs out, probably somewhere around summer of 2011.
